Amazing, quiet, secluded getaway in the countryside!” -Brad G.
The pictures don’t do this house or location justice. The house was amazingly well kept and clean, stocked with everything you could possibly need and super comfortable for a large group. Brian and Crystal where very accommodating and helpful. They have a lovely stable on the property and take great care of there guests and animals. My kids especially loved Hitch the goat and Ruger the coonhound. Highly recommend you try there trail ride.
Where do I begin? I was throwing a surprise 50th birthday for my wife and was looking for a place to rent for the weekend. I found this property and I was blown away from the start. I knew this was the perfect place. The barn is such a cool design and spacious. There’s a loft, a full bath and a kitchenette – everything we needed for a totally pleasurable weekend. Everyone complimented the rustic design and the property overall. Our guests had a wonderful time. The pavilion area outside was exactly what we were looking for to entertain some friends. I loved that the pergola has garden cloth to help create shade. The property is up on a hill, so you have amazing views that go forever. I just can’t say enough and we’ll definitely be going back.
Brian and his wife Crystal are caretakers on the property and just the nicest people ever and from the very first contact, they were such gracious hosts and made sure we had everything we needed. Brian and Crystal also own Central Coast Trail Rides there on the property so if you like horseback riding, book some time to go out with them on the nearby trails and take in some of the breathtaking beauty of this area of the country has to offer.
Absolutely 5 stars for this property and a big thanks again to Brian and Crystal for making our weekend absolutely perfect!
“We came to spend 4 days in SLO. We decided to stay in Creston and enjoy the beauty of the views (and stars), let the kids play with the animals, enjoy the jacuzzi, and the amazing house. Brian was extremely helpful with both tips and showing us around. The house is beautiful designed, was perfectly packed and specifically the kitchen was a treat. We used the BBQ as well as the jacuzzi and had incredible experiences. We had to drive in order to get to SLO and and to the coast but it was completely worth it. Thank you for hosting us!”
“What a fabulous way to spend time with family and friends! The house was immaculate, beautifully decorated, and loaded with everything you need. The views were breathtaking, and the area super quiet and secluded. Brian and Crystal were very helpful and welcoming, making us feel at home. Thank you for great family memories!”
“Everything about the Ranch is charming, elegant, and inviting: from the rustic- chic decor to the awesome patio complete with string lights, a fire pit, and incredible views and sunsets. Our weekend included 5 couples sharing the villa very comfortably, while our adult children stayed at the charming cabin nearby on the property. We were celebrating my husband’s “decades” birthday with a (catered) dinner for 20 on the patio on Saturday evening, horseback trail riding, wine tasting, and lots of laughs and stories shared around the fire. The villa itself is very comfortable, with a large and cozy living room, great bedrooms and bathrooms, as well as a very workable, beautiful kitchen with a walk-in pantry. All tastefully decorated and supplied with very comfortable beds, great bedding and linens, and well stocked kitchen.
The cabin looks like a renovated and updated barn that has been decorated to make you feel like you don’t want to leave…it’s adorable and chic. It has a fun outdoor bar overlooking the property and beyond, a shaded patio with outdoor seating (both lounging and dining), and a bbq. It’s private and away from the villa, yet close enough to be inclusive if desired.
I really can’t say enough wonderful things about HorseTail Ranch. Both the owners and their on-site manager were very accommodating and helpful. They really wanted to make our stay enjoyable and memorable. All of us that shared that weekend at the Ranch can’t wait to return!”
“We were truly wow’ed by the outstanding service of Brian and team. They went out of their way to accommodate us – we had so many little kids running around – and they told us about the horses on site, which the kids loved. It was very conveniently located as we were even able to go wine tasting with our friends for a day! The kitchen was clean, modern and huge, enough for so many of us to cook, clean, walk around and get things done. Everything was very safe and new looking. Furthermore, at night, we were able to lay back on the chairs and stare straight into the sky at all the stars. It was mind blowing for many of us who live in big cities and hardly ever see such clarity at night. The kids were able to play freely outside and there were chairs, tables, etc. everywhere so everything was convenient. The ceilings were high and we felt like we were at a nice, high-end place that was still conveniently located and charged a reasonable amount. Kinda the best of all worlds. Thank you for the great service, keeping the place in great shape and being available the weekend we were visiting SLO :)”
“We were looking for a retreat with benefits and found it at HorseTail Ranch. It’s not easy to find a gorgeous getaway that combines sophisticated living with peaceful, quiet serenity. We needed a place where we could write, practice our meditation and relax, while at the same time being close enough to sample good wines and in-town food when we weren’t cooking our own meals at the ranch. We found it all at HorseTail Ranch, what a cool idea for a luxury retreat!”
“An incredible setting. HorseTail Ranch has it all – scenic beauty, rugged comfort and peaceful surroundings. The clear, night sky was breathtaking – so many stars! We went horseback riding, took hikes down to the lake, read some great books and ate really well. The ranch is so close to so many amazing wineries and we certainly took advantage of that. Count us in as “regulars”!”
“I can’t think of a better way to explore Paso Robles. HorseTail Ranch was even better than expected. It was a perfect place to hang our hats, while we went out to fantastic wineries, restaurants and a couple of outdoor concerts. The quiet environment at HorseTail was the perfect antidote for our regular, everyday-busy city life.”
“It was everything
“HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND Horsetail Ranch! We went to The Ranch over News Years and had one of our most favorite vacations ever. What a perfect way to unwind and decompress
“We just spent the better part of a week at this beautiful ranch. The house and grounds are meticulously maintained and the kitchen is very well stocked with equipment. There were four couples for the weekend, and we spent time cooking, hanging outside around the fire pit and just generally relaxing, There is a wonderful view from the front of the house where the fire pit is, and it was very peaceful to sit out there sipping wine.
The house is located not too far from several wineries and restaurants, but we ate in most every night. The caretakers Brian and Crystal, who live just down at the bottom on of the hill on which the house sits, could not be more pleasant or helpful. We enjoyed a horseback ride on our final day and it was a great way to see more of this beautiful ranch. If you choose to stay, you wont be disappointed!”
HorseTail was a great find! The loft-type “Cabin”, designed like a barn, is located on a hill at the HorseTail Ranch – very private. We were in Creston for a bicycle event which started less than 10 minutes from the ranch. The newly built structure is decorated in elegantly western simplicity and the layout worked great for us. The caretaker, Brian, couldn’t have been more helpful. Very enjoyable weekend.”
“If you love fast horses and big hats, this secluded 150 acre ranch will feel just like home. Spend your day riding the horse trails and on the way home, stop by the local [Paso] Robles wineries for a bottle or two to enjoy with barbecue on the patio.”
I was lucky enough to book horsetail ranch for my 30th this last weekend. I don’t usually write reviews but I have to of this property, it was AMAZING! The perfect place for a group of 18 friends to spend memorial day weekend away from the city. The property manager was very nice and the house has everything you could possibly need, and if it doesn’t, the property manager even offered to go out and get it for us. We rented the Villa and the Cabin since we had such a large group. The cabin was a quick 7 min walk from the main house. The Villa has a lake right below the house that we could go and paddle boat in. I think the stars at night were my favorite part, it was so peaceful, couldn’t help but feel relaxed. Would highly recommend this property to anyone that has a big group, there is something for everyone. Some members of our group got up early and went for a run on the property, some stayed up late and had wine and smores around the fire pit, some hiked, some paddle boated. Overall I couldn’t have asked for a more special place to spend my birthday. Thank you Horsetail Ranch!
|“HorseTail Ranch is an amazing place to stay for any trip to the Paso Robles area, whether it’s a home base for other adventures in the area or simply for a relaxing weekend. The property is a beautiful rolling landscape with amazing views & sunsets. Everyone we interacted with was welcoming and helpful. My family all agreed that we’d definitely stay there again on our next trip to Paso.”|
|“My sister and I hosted a girls’/moms’ weekend away for 10 ladies from LA and the Bay Area a couple weekends ago, and we couldn’t have had a better weekend despite the chilly weather. The house itself was incredible – there was plenty of room for all 10 of us in the 5 bedrooms. And the downstairs area was perfect for playing board games, cooking delicious meals, and enjoying cocktails in the hot tub/around the fire pit. We had a local yoga teacher come teach a class one of the mornings, and some of us did a trail ride around the ranch. It was a perfect location for enjoying the Creston Wine Trail – about 10-15 minutes from all the vineyards. We met such nice, down-to-earth people/owners at the vineyards – it was a lot more personal and fun than other areas like Napa/Sonoma which have so many more tourists. I am a planner, and Kena, the owner, was super helpful with suggestions for dinner locations and vineyards, etc. I will definitely be back with my family – hopefully this summer!”|
